Portrait - Samuel Ränsch

Hi, my name is Samuel Ränsch, I'm 16 years old and a high school student at Le Grésivaudan in Meylan. Sport is a real passion for me: in addition to paraglider, I've been practicing fencing (sabre) at a High since the age of 6.

How did I start paraglider ?

Ever since I was little, I've been flying kites, watching my father and brother fly paraglider. When I was 11, my parents gave me an old glider , which allowed me to discover how to inflate it and to make my first flights on school slopes.
When I was 12, I took an introductory course at Air Alpin in Saint-Hilaire, and it was there that I really fell in love with paraglider. Since then, I've been flying alone, following in my brother's footsteps, particularly in the acro discipline.
2 years ago, I also joined CODEVOLI, a club for young people set up by the FFVL. This has enabled me to progress, discover new sites and, above all, share my passion with other pilots.

My projects

My dream would be to specialize in acro, and why not take part in competitions. I'd also like to become a paraglider instructor to pass on this passion to others. In parallel, I continue to give my best to reconcile my studies, fencing training and competitions.
