Profile – Samuel Ränsch
Hi! My name is Samuel Ränsch, I’m 16 years old, and I’m a high school student at Grésivaudan in Meylan. Sports are a real passion of mine: in addition to paragliding, I’ve been competing at a high level in fencing (sabre) since I was 6 years old.
How did I get into paragliding?
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve been flying kites while watching my dad and brother paraglide. When I was 11, my parents gave me an old wing, which allowed me to learn how to inflate it and make my first short flights on training slopes.
For my 12th birthday, I took a beginner’s course at Air Alpin in Saint-Hilaire, and that’s where I truly fell in love with paragliding. Since then, I’ve been flying on my own, following in my brother’s footsteps, particularly in the discipline of acro.
Two years ago, I also joined CODEVOLI, a youth club created by the FFVL. This has allowed me to improve, discover new sites, and, above all, share my passion with other pilots.
My Projects
My dream would be to specialize in acro, and maybe even compete. I’d also like to become a paragliding instructor so I can share this passion with others. At the same time, I’m continuing to give it my all to balance my studies, my fencing training, and my competitions.
