A pioneering harness from hike & fly, the RADICAL—now in its fourth generation—is still just as at home in the mountains and on vertical slopes.
The RADICAL4 is anultra-light harness string(920g in size M) designed for the flight mountain.
When used with its airbag option, it becomes a harness equipped with an airbag protection, a rescue pocket and a reversible bag. This option makes it a versatile harness for safety on demand... and simplicity at every step.
Its sleek design reflects the philosophy behind its creation: keeping only the essentials to enhance the flying experience. Its featherlight weight in no way compromises itscomfort—thanks to its foam-padded back—or itsperformance in turns: the support is precise, cushioned (the independent, Mylar-reinforced “ leg straps ” smoothly smooth out air turbulence), and balanced (its structure eliminates unwanted movements).
The RADICAL4 provides “a sensation of smooth control and guided glide,” describes Yoann Chavanne, its designer. This soft precision while flying stems from its ability to deform to adapt to the pilot’s body.
Well accessorized (pole holder, removable waist belt) the RADICAL4 reveals itself in its finishing details. You can touch it with your eyes: every useful detail, every worked finish, every material chosen for its nobility and durability. The structure of the Strap and the frame, the subcutaneous airbag repositioned in front of the harness and using a Rush designed with a resistant material, have been thought to improve safety. The backpack and the harness have been designed separately to push the technical and aesthetic solutions to their limits.
Freedom, lightness, simplicity, because when there is nothing left to remove, the important thing remains.

MODULE BACKPACK AIRBAG RADICAL 4 (OPTIONAL):
The airbag option allows you to transform your harness ultra-light into areversible harness equipped with a parachute pocket and a pre-shaped airbag.
This module that connects to the harness with the help of a Zipper allows you to gain in passive safety as well as in versatility. You only have to attach or detach your airbag to adapt your harness to the practice you plan to do every day!

Frequently Asked Questions About the RADICAL 4
An ultra-light 920 g harness (size M) without a seatplate, featuring semi-rigid “ leg straps .” It is designed for mountain flying and hike & fly.
This optional module attaches to the harness with a zipper. It includes a pre-formed airbag, an emergency pocket under the seat, and a reversible bag. With the module, the RADICAL 4 weighs 2.19 kg in size M.
Without the module, the harness is pre-equipped for a parasuit in a ventral position, such as the OLYS pocket. With the airbag pack, the reserve parachute is placed under the seat. The accepted volume ranges from 2.9 to 5.3 liters.
Size S: 160 to 175 cm and 50 to 70 kg. Size M: 170 to 185 cm and 65 to 90 kg. Size L: 180 to 205 cm and 70 to 120 kg.
It is EN 1651-certified and LTF-certified when used with the airbag pack. It can also be used as a two-seater, on either the pilot's or passenger's side.
When paired with a lightweight wing like the EIKO 2, it makes for a very lightweight setup for mountain flying and hike & fly.
