Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hi, I'm Laura, I'm 29 years old. I work as a nursing assistant in a nursing home in Allevard, between Grenoble and Chambéry. During my days off, I spent several years being a shuttle girl for paragliders, until I decided flight wanted to try flight . Since then, I've been taking every opportunity to Take-off. Outside of paraglider, I'm also passionate about ski hike hike, two activities that often take me to explore the nearby mountains.
When and how did you learn paraglider ?
I discovered paraglider to friends. For a long time, I mainly trained on the ground with them, practicing inflation and slope training when conditions prevented them from Take-off. As I often acted as their shuttle, I never really took the plunge to fly myself.
That changed in August 2024. One day, I decided to walk into the Allevard school and announce that I finally wanted to take my first flights. The instructor, who already knew me, offered me a whole afternoon of independent inflation to see where I was at. And the next day, I made my first splashes.
In May 2025, I took my first advanced training course in Ceillac, then finally bought my own equipment so I could fly independently. That's when the adventure really began. As soon as I had a window of opportunity, I would go flying.
I progressed quite quickly and in October 2025 I even took part in my first walking and flight competition, the Chartreuse Xplouf. I didn't have the ideal equipment and I didn't win, but it pushed me to exceed my limits and made me love paraglider even more.
What are your projects outside paraglider ?
As for my professional life, I would like to leave the nursing home to work
as a nursing assistant at the university hospital.
