The Acro Show took place in Villeneuve on the weekend of 25/26 August and saw our team pilot Horacio Llorens win! This victory also allows him to become the winner of the Acro World Tour 2018! Back to this weekend with Horacio :
- How do you feel about winning the 2018 Acro World Tour (AWT)?
To be honest, I'm really happy to be back in first place overall. The level is so high and we are competing with incredibly talented pilots from all over the world. It's been 5 years since my last AWT final title and I've been training relentlessly this year, especially this summer. I trained 5-6 hours every day at Organya and at the same time I organised the AcroGame and various projects with many responsibilities. It was not easy but I love doing it! I am really happy to be the winner of the world cup again and would like to thank Supair for their support!
- How did the Acro Show go?
The weekend was amazing; I started with 3 great duels in the qualifiers. I won all 3 and finished first in my group, which put me in a good mood. I was confident in those runs and flew very well; but I was up against Francois Ragolski (2016 World Champion) in the quarter finals. He is a very talented pilot and I knew that it would not be easy but that I had a chance to pass. In the semi-final I was up against Victor Carrera, who is an incredible pilot, very committed to his runs and now part of the Red Bull team. I knew from the start that I would need an impressive run to get through and I think my Landing made the difference, as our runs were quite similar. The duel in the final was against my Brazilian friend Rafael Goberna, and it was absolutely crazy! Our runs included a maximum of tricks with a start from the helicopter. I put all my best tricks in one run and won the competition. It was a real dream come true during the whole weekend and thanks to this victory at the Acro Show I also became the winner of the World Cup (AWT)!
- Tell us about your Supair equipment
With Supair, I have the best possible equipment. The work done on the harnesses is incredible and I have seen nothing like it. I have been using Supair equipment since the beginning of my career in paraglider and now with the gliders I am delighted! I was flying the harness Acro3 for this competition and I can't wait to fly its successor! I was training with theAcro Base System at Organya as it is the most secure harness on the market! I couldn't be happier with my equipment!
- Any plans for the near future?
I'm going to Turkey for the SEARCH Project with Tom from Dorlodot and I'm bringing my cross country gear: harness Delight 3, glider WILD (EN-D) and STEP (EN-B+). I'm looking forward to testing the new STEP glider ! Turkey is going to be amazing and I count on showing you everything about this trip soon!
The final AWT 2018 ranking also sees Théo de Blic finishing 2nd and Tim Alongi 6th! Congratulations to the Supair team!
