SATI HUNZIKER
Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
SM: My name is Sati Hunziker, I am 29 years old and work as a boat builder and practice paraglider, my main discipline is hike and fly.
When and how did you learn paraglider ?
SH: I grew up in the Valais, where I started to practice paraglider and winter sports. Even as a youngster I used to have fun imitating paragliders and hang gliders flying with weirdly assembled sheets. I used to swirl around the house like Raul Rodriguez who I saw flying at the acro show in Villeneuve!
I have been practicing paraglider since I was 16 years old.
Do you have a special memory of flight to share with us?
SH: Among my best memories of paraglider there is a flight from Fiesch which allowed me to reach central Switzerland by passing by the Oberaarhorn and flying over the Aletsch glacier and Grindelwald.
Another adventure, during last year's eigertour we had to face a lot of rain. So walking took the lead and after a day of great differences in altitude I accumulated 5500 m positive by walking in one day.
